Scene: Alex, Mallory, and Jennifer are in the kitchen
Mallory: Alex, when is Ellen getting here?
Jennifer: Yea, she's really late today.
Alex: She said she'd be a little late today. She said she had some very
important news to tell me.
(Ellen enters)
Ellen: Hi everyone. Alex, can I speak to you alone?
Mallory and Jennifer: yea, sure
Ellen: Alex, I don't know how to tell you this, but I got a dance scholarship to
Paris. I'm leaving in a week.
Alex: What? Ellen you can't leave.
Ellen: I have to. Dancing is very important to me.
Alex: Wait, ellen, I thought I was important to you.
Ellen: Alex, you are very important to me, and I love you very much. But
getting this schlorship is a great honor.
Alex: You know whats an honor? Getting to be seen with me!
Ellen: I know that. But if I want to be the best dancer I can be, I have
to go to paris.
Alex: Well if it's so important to you, why don't you leave now?
Ellen: Then I will.
(Ellen exits)
Scene: Later in the evening, the Keatons are cleaning up from dinner.
Alex: I can't believe Ellen would do this to me.
Elyse: Alex, you know that dancing is important to her. And, you should
support her decision.
Alex: I know, but I'm going to miss her so much.
Jennifer: were all going to miss her, she's a great friend.
(Ellen knocks on the door, Alex lets her in, the rest of the Keatons exit)
Alex: Hi
Ellen: Hi.
Alex: Listen, Ellen, im sorry about what I said before. I should try to
support you more.
Ellen: Its ok Alex. I have to say, I'm going to miss you very much.
He kisses her.
Scene: Alex and Ellen are waiting in the airport.
Ellen's flight is called.
Alex: Well I guess this is goodbye.
Ellen: Yea, I guess so.
Alex: Ellen before you leave, I just want to say that you have made the greatest
impact on my life, and that I love you so much.
Ellen: I love you too Alex!
Alex: I hope that you become the best dancer you can be. Good luck.
Ellen: Thank you Alex.
The two kiss. Ellen leaves.
Alex: Goodbye, Ellen.
