[Scene - The Keaton Family Room]
JENNIFER: Mallory. at what age do you start to go on dates regularly?
MALLORY: Well, Jen. It's hard to tell, I mean, it starts differently for each
person.
JENNIFER: Then how come it hasn't started for me yet?
MALLORY: Jennifer you aren't even 16 yet!
JENNIFER: So? You started dating before that.
MALLORY: That's not the point Jennifer.
JENNIFER: Well it is to me!
[Jennifer goes upstairs, while Alex comes into the living room]
ALEX: Whoa Mal, what did you do to poor old Jen? You didn't give her any
"advice", did you?!
MALLORY: Alex, shut up. she's having boy trouble.
ALEX: Of what kind?
MALLORY: I guess no guys are noticing her or anything.
ALEX: And what did you tell her?
MALLORY: That you have to wait for the right time. she just has to find the
right guy... Look, my friend Mark is coming over so we can do this school
project, do you mind?
ALEX: I have more important things to do anyways, such as business.
[The doorbell rings.]
MALLORY: Alex leave!
[Alex leaves, and Mallory goes to open the door.]
MALLORY: Hi Mark, come in!
MARK: Thank you. how about we get started on the project right away?
MALLORY: Good idea.
[Mallory and Mark walk over to the sofa and sit down, and Jennifer walks down
the stairs.]
JENNIFER: Mallory, who is your guest?
MALLORY: This is Mark. Mark, this is my kid sister Jennifer.
JENNIFER: But I'm not a kid anymore, Mark. (Jennifer smiles)
MALLORY: Jennifer, do you mind?
JENNIFER: Ohhhh. right. I'll sit at the table over here and mind my own
business.
MALLORY: Is that okay with you Mark?
MARK: It's perfectly fine. (Mark stares at Jennifer, and Jennifer giggles)
MALLORY: (angry) Jennifer, can we please talk in the kitchen, NOW.
[Jennifer gets up, smiles at Mark, and walks with Mallory into the kitchen]
JENNIFER: Quite a partner you have there!
MALLORY: Jen, what are you doing?! We are working on a project, and you are
distracting him!
JENNIFER: (sarcastically) Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!
MALLORY: Urg! You stay in the kitchen!
JENNIFER: What?! Why?!
MALLORY: We are working on a project, and we'll never get done with you in
there!
JENNIFER: How about we strike a deal?
MALLORY: (angry) Jennifer! Are you serious?!
JENNIFER: I'll stay out if you let me go on a date with him.
MALLORY: Jen, he's too old for you.
JENNIFER: No he's not! This is what I've been waiting for!
MALLORY: The answer is no!
[Steven walks into the kitchen]
STEVEN: What are you girls arguing about?
MALLORY: Nothing dad, I was just going to go join my guest so we can work on our
project. Could you please keep Jennifer occupied?
STEVEN: Well sure honey, but.
MALLORY: (interrupting) Thanks dad!
[Mallory walks into the family room]
JENNIFER: Dad. how come no one ever notices me?
STEVEN: What do you mean Jen?
JENNIFER: I never get asked out or anything. I wish I could go out with that boy
Mallory brought over.
STEVEN: Well Jen. he's so much older than you!
JENNIFER: I know, but I just want a date. I want to be happy.

[Scene - Jennifer's School, in the cafeteria, one week later]
CHRISSY: Jennifer, guess what!
JENNIFER: (crabby) What?
CHRISSY: You will not believe it! Someone got you a date with Scott Jones! OH
MY GOD I'm sooo happy for you!
JENNIFER: (excited) Really?? Really?!?
CHRISSY: YES! Isn't it exciting?!
JENNIFER: But I wonder who it is.
CHRISSY: Actually. I think it was your sister Mallory, but I don't know how she
managed to do it.
JENNIFER: My sister. Mallory. (Jennifer spaces out)

[Jennifer walks in, and gives Mallory a big hug, and the episode ends]
